The NFC West Team Overview
Seattle Seahawks
The Hawks’ defense isn’t what it once was but still ranked 5th in defensive DVOA last season. They’ve got weapons and the key to success will be keeping Russell Wilson on his feet so the offense can sing.
They’ve beefed up the line in the offseason but the questions still remain.
They do have a tough schedule this year with road trips to Green Bay, New York Giants, Dallas, and Tennessee outside of division games.
PROJECTED: 10-6 and NFC West Division winners
Arizona Cardinals
The Cards were very poor last year and QB Carson Palmer looked like his job might come under fire. Is he healthy this year and if he is, can he recapture the form of 2015 when he threw 35 TD’s and just 11 picks.
They’ve still got weapons and having David Johnson flying out of the backfield allows them to score points in bunches.
The defense is the area that Arizona has been renowned for in recent times and they’ll again be reliant on being a top 10 defense. Luckily for the Bird Gang they play both the Giants and Cowboys at home.
PROJECTED: 9-7

Los Angeles Rams
Where to start with the Rams? They lost 11 of their last 12 games last year and Jared Goff looked shaky at best. Todd Gurley can’t get out of his own way and the defense that was so promising to Hard Knocks fans ended up leaking points to some average offenses.
A new coach comes in and the Rams have some very winnable games at home which should give them a chance to get a few cheap W’s on the board.
Can’t trust this offense though and for that reason, they will not be getting to .500
PROJECTED: 6-10
San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers also have a new coach (Kyle Shanahan) and a new GM (John Lynch). They were slightly better than they got credit for last season and can be competitive this year although it will be a rebuilding year.
With Chip Kelly out of town can they rise from the 28th ranked defensive DVOA team to somewhere inside the top 20 and win six or more games?
Unlikely on our figures!
PROJECTED: 5-11
