The two Qualifiers are both mouth watering and the two AFL Elimination Finals aren’t bad either!
Keen to bet in both AFL Elimination Finals games and once again keen to play the underdogs.
AFL Qualifying Finals Preview and Tips
Sydney v Essendon
Where and when: Sydney Cricket Ground @ 4:20pm Saturday
The Swans have been on an absolute tear since the midway point of the season and absolutely deserve the home elimination final that they’ve got against the Bombers.
Funnily enough, the Bombers are one of few teams to challenge the Swans over that stretch and actually should have beaten them at the SCG back in Round 14.
The Swannies have once again been one the competitions premier defensive teams and at the SCG their physical, contested brand of footy is well suited.
The Dons, on the other hand, are much more run and gun. They aren’t afraid to play on and move the ball through the corridor. It’s a genuine contrast of game styles but the Dons will for sure take confidence from the fact they should have won at this ground a few months back.
Can they free up Michael Hurley so he can peel off and make Franklin’s life difficult inside forward 50 and can big Joey Daniher kick a bag for the Dons? Both questions need to be answered but there is plenty of fat in the Essendon price despite how hot Sydney has been running.
Small bet H2H and a good bet on the current line of 33.5 which is 10 points too high on my ratings.
Suggested bet: Essendon H2H $5.50 TopSport / +33.5 TopSport
Port Adelaide v West Coast
Where and when: Adelaide Oval @ 7:20pm Saturday Night
West Coast is the first team for the weekend I’m keen on that have a positive recent record against their opposition (5 out of last 6). They hold no fears about playing in Adelaide – which is a far cry from playing in Melbourne.
These two teams are similar in many ways. Both have been noted as downhill skiers, mentally and physically soft and ‘flat track bullies’. How fitting that they get to face off in a game that genuinely means something!
The Coasters are the kings of the intercept mark and the Power’s ball use forward of the centre will become a real barometer for success. This should be a highly entertaining game to round out the weekend that could well be won in the coaches box.
The Power will fancy themselves to win the contested ball battle and put the heat on a few of the West Coast ‘outside’ players but West Coast have been very good in their last two games and that form against GWS and Adelaide obviously stacks up well.
On rankings there is nothing more than a kick in this game, take the points on the Coasters as well as the H2H price.
Suggested bet: West Coast $2.75 / +15.5
Good luck punters!
