The Meadows feels a little like a ghost town for this Saturday night of racing, with so many of the Saturday night regulars heading to the Geelong Cup. Whilst the races lack a lot of depth, we should still be able to land a few winners
Race 2-
Like the dog in box 4 Blue Sky Riot. The money came for it last week and it lead from start to finish. From the impressive Azzopardi camp- it has early speed and it is drawn to get the gun run with the other good dogs drawn outside. Something small on Blue Sky Riot to kick the night off
Blue Sky Riot to win
Race 4-
I liked the heat win of Ya Reckon (box 3) at Bendigo. Found some traffic early and did a great job to power through to victory. Will need to get out a little better this week but there isn’t a great deal of speed inside and if she can find the rail then I think she is a good each way bet in this.
Ya Reckon each way
Race 6-
I’m really keen on having an each way bet on Jeebus Bird (Box 2) at around the $10 mark. Went super a few starts back here over this trip and I think he may be able to find the rail early and finish off really strong. I suspect that Cardamom will lead here and prove very hard to catch but at the current price I think Jeebus Bird is a very good bet.
Jeebus Bird each way
Race 7-
TimTams for Bams may have one of the most bizarre names in Greyhound racing but she has a lot of ability and I think she can win this very competitive race. She has finally drawn a good box and has plenty of pace mid race, if she can hold the rail then I think she may be very tough to run down.
Tim Tams for Bams to win
Race 8-
Intriguing race with Sydney visitor Mister Twister having it’s first start at the track. Some of the experts are saying that he will need a look at the track before they will tip him but I think it is less important for the Sydney dogs coming here than what it is for the Melbourne dogs heading there. Melbourne tracks are 20 years ahead of Wentworth Park and drawn out in box 8, he should be able to sit off them into the first turn and blow them away late. He is a Group 1 winner from a great kennel with plenty of speed and I think he has a big class edge on any of the participants in this race. His main goal will be the Group 1 Topgun next week where he will be taking on 7 of the countries best but this will be a great trial run.
Good win bet on Mister Twister
Race 10-
Exs and Ohs in this one for me. Super win at this track, this distance, this box last start and ran good time for this class. Ticks all of the boxes in an average race and I will be having a decent bet here
Good win bet Exs and Ohs
Race 11-
I will be backing Audacious Poppy each way here. It recently matched motors here with some a-graders and is way over the odds at $11. Would loved to have drawn inside because I probably would have doubled the bet but with clear running she is better than most of these greyhounds and represents great value.
Audacious Poppy decent each way bet
Race 12-
Leprechaun Storm looks perfectly placed in the last race of the night. Has plenty of early speed and has a very good PB here at this track. I will be having a good crack at him straight out in the last to build a bank for next weeks Topgun
Good Win bet Leprechaun Storm
Good luck Punters
