Horse Racing Tips for Sandown, this Saturday the 18th of November – Zipping Classic and Sandown Guineas Day!
Rail Position: True Entire Circuit
Dual Track Meeting: N
Track Type: Turf
Track Condition: Good 4
Weather: Fine
The above is correct at time of writing, however, there is rain falling over Pakenham and Sandown as we speak.
There is a chance of some more rain brought about by storms on Friday and early Saturday but all things considered, the circuit should play pretty well.
Natural rain is better than the track team having to water the surface and Hillside should be a picture on Saturday.
Sandown Racing Tips 15th Nov
Race 1 #2 Sanglier @ $4.60
Pretty confident bet here. Horse was scratched from the race his stablemate possibly should have won down the straight at Flemington last week. Sanglier was luckless on debut and should have finished much closer to the winner. This appears a race with much less depth and he should run very well. Long Leaf looks a nice horse but may want further and looks very green. Could consider saving on him if the horse drifted out past $5 again.

Race 6 #3 Crystal Dreamer @ $3.50
Crystal Dreamer sets up very well for this race. Drops in class and maps very well for Damien Lane. Superb distance record, has won at the track before and sting out of the track is no concern. Rated a $3 chance and clearly the one to beat in an otherwise even bunch of sprinters. Not sure what to make of Derryn looks to have not come up this prep but will be looking for market signals and the need to potentially save on him.
Race 7 #1 Almandin @ $2.60
We tipped him to our Twitter followers earlier in the week at $3.20+ and since the barrier draw those prices have all but disappeared. He ticks a lot of boxes stepping back to weight-for-age and three-wide no cover on Cup Day simply wasn’t the place to be. Big Duke got the perfect run that day and always runs well, expecting more of the same but Almandin to have too much class at the WFA scale.
Horse Racing Opinion: When is the best time to bet?
Race 8 #2 Beau Geste @ $4.80
The Carbine Club looks a sound form reference for this race and against pattern Beau Geste ran on super from near the back of the field. He can settle closer from barrier four this time around, a winner on soft ground before and the horse to beat. Keeping an eye on Vinland who is a horse with plenty of talent but might be not yet ready to win a race of this depth.
