Tuesday racing from Ballarat in Victoria. Check out our tips below!
Rail Position: Out 12m 600m – WP, True Remainder
Dual Track Meeting: N
Track Type: Turf
Track Condition: Heavy 8
Weather: Fine
Penetrometer: 6.97
The track was average on Saturday and with rain falling expect that it cuts up again. Rail out 12M in the straight and on bend suggesting runners will have a chance to get to the outside fence in big fields.
Searching for fit horses as even if the track dries out it will still be a very testing surface.
Race 1 – #4 Costano Mille @ $21
33 start maiden! Has run well on heavy tracks before and can’t get over how short the other two in the market are. If there is a firmer it will likely be our girl. Worth something very small!

Race 2 – #9 Mary’s Girl @ $6.50
Really keen here. Playing two horses but the best result will be Mary’s Girl who should find the front and give a good kick. Saving on the #3 Gimme Strength who jumps quickly to 1400m but looks to have ability beyond this grade. Only has to be somewhere near right to contend.

Race 4 – #3 Star Patriot @ $5.50
Really surprised we are getting $5.50 about this horse. Drops in grade obviously but more importantly I think she is better suited back to 1600m. Moscow Red top pick on ratings but too short at the price. Happy to have something small on the 3 here.

Race 6 – #1 Fast and Rolling @ $3.2
Pretty keen here and think he is closer to a 6/4 shot if the track is as weathered as we are expecting. Has strong record in this grade, strong record with the cut out of the ground, goes forward and has sound fitness base. Hard to beat!
