A very cold night awaits us but there is plenty of hot chasers going around at The Meadows Greyhounds. We will play into a few races tonight that we can fill our pockets with.
We will be playing into RACE 2 with a win bet on ALLEN ABLETT (2) who has been super impressive in his two race starts at Sandown Park. He was heavily backed in his first start and then was faultless in the final. He is having his first start at here at The Meadows but from the inside draw I expect the son of Fernando Bale to settle in the top 3 and be to strong to the line. Could be a future star.
WIN BET – ALLEN ABLETT
In the 5th race of the night we are backing the NSW chaser SHALLAY PALLAY (2) who has been flying of late. Last start 29.83 winner at Wentworth Park from an inside draw leading all the way and I expect him to do the same thing here. The worry is obviously the lack of track experience and travel but I think he will be able to take it all in his stride and make the drive home for his trainer a bit easier with a Victorian city winner.
WIN BET – SHALLAY PALLAY
In RACE 6 we see the superstar WORM BURNER (7) return to racing in Victoria after a few months off with injury and his first up run from a spell at Albion Park last week. He will be very short and deserves to be but just a little worried about the speed drawn around him. He is out wide where he loves to be but think he will get shuffled back early therefore I’m selecting SET TO STORM (4) as an each way selection. She was sensational in BON run at Wentworth Park two runs back leading all the way in a semi final of the Group 1 Peter Mossman. I think with a clean get away she can jump to the lead and be off and gone. Around the $6.50 mark she is worth having a play at.
I also am going to have a place bet on ALPHA LUCKY (3) at the $1.85 mark who has huge ability. He is capable of matching it early with SET TO STORM and is definitely a place chance. Wouldn’t be surprised if he won this.
EACH WAY BET – SET TO STORM
PLACE BET – ALPHA LUCKY
RACE 8 on the program is a cracking free for all race over the 525m trip. One of the most exciting youngers JIMMY NEWOB lines up from box 8 in preparation for next weeks Group 1 Maturity heats over the same trip and venue. He was very unlucky last start in a heat of the Bendigo Cup but from box 8 tonight he will have the room to balance up early and rattle down the outside and show us he will be one the best dogs in the country in months to come.
WIN BET – JIMMY NEWOB
In our final betting race for the night which is the 9th race on the card we are selecting SHADALE (3) on top. This beautiful blue dog can take a stride or two to warm up but once he does he really drops the hammer. I expect him to settle in the top 3 at the first turn, fly past them down the back and be to strong to the line to finish our night with a bang and go home with our pockets filled.
WIN BET – SHADALE
Have a good weekend!
Good luck and happy punting!
