Tuesday night at 5:30pm all eyes will be on a mixed 4/5 485 meter race at Horsham Greyhound Track where two Group 1 winners will line up against each other in a very hot race.
ZIPPING BRUISER owned and trained by myself will jump from box 2 and LIGHTNING FRANK owned by our other Punting Stars Greyhound Tipster Ricky Leonard and the Hashtag Syndicate will jump from box 4. Both dogs are coming back from spells on the sidelines due to injury and both will be looking for more group glory in the months to come.
My boy ZIPPING BRUISER has only had the one start in the last 4 months due to an injury sustained in a heat of the Golden Easter Egg at Wentworth Park. He has been trialling very well and will really benefit from the run tomorrow over the longer distance. Unfortunately he has drawn poorly in box 2 as he loves to be on the outside of the track but he will absolutely love the long straights at Horsham. I will be happy with him to run well and get around safely.
LIGHTNING FRANK is a six times group race finalist and it is sensational to see him back on the track. He has spent the last 3 months on the sidelines when picking up an injury in the Warrnambool Classic. He has sensational box manners and acceleration and will will also really love the long straights at Horsham. Very exciting for Ricky and the owners to have their superstar back and they will be looking forward to getting him to some big races in the months to come. Box 4 won’t be a worry for Frank as he has explosive speed and he can win from any box. Could give my track record with Zipping Inglis a real nudge (Unfortunately!)
There is also another Group 1 finalist in the race which is NANGAR ROCK who jumps up from box 8 who is perfectly drawn out there. He was very impressive last start at Warrnambool and with the good draw he will be a major player in this race.
I’m really looking forward to the opportunity to race against the superstar Lightning Frank and just happy to have my bloke back on the track. Hopefully they all get around safely but I expect Frank to be to good with clear running.
Good luck to all!
