Superb night of racing with the Group 2 McKenna Memorial feature over the 595m. Will the Queen of Australian greyhound racing Fanta Bale be able to add another group race to her CV? Sandown Greyhound Tips below!
Race 3. Pretty keen on Box 8 Cardamom. Big drop in class and back out in distance which should suit. Cardamom to win
Race 4. Tiggerlong Cruz was an impressive Bendigo Cup heat winner that has the ability to put this lot away if she can get through the first turn without any major interference. Box draw is a small concern but $2.50 is nice enough odds for a dog that has a sizzling 29:47 around here. Tiggerlong Cruz to win
Race 6. If you aren’t cheering for Fanta Bale tonight then there is something wrong. I love the greyhound and I hope she wins but I will be betting on another dog as much as it hurts me to say. I really liked the performance of Bella Shima last week and the time was scorching. I have a feeling that she will jump out ahead of Fanta Bale and park outside Shima Song around the first turn. If she does this then she may prove really hard to reel in. I want Fanta Bale to win and she usually finds a way to win but I am looking for some punting value here and Bella Shima is very good odds at $4.20 after her amazing heat. Bella Shima to win
Race 7. Bewildering box 6 is the best dog in the race but has only been turning up mentally every second start for the past month or so. Going off that ridiculously random logic, I am tipping him to win here but won’t bet if he isn’t better than even money. When in form, he would blow this field away but the box draw and recent erratic form give me some cause for concern. If he rocks up ready to race then the $2 odds will be a gift but if he shows up in the same mindset as last start then it will be a donation Bewildering to win
Race 9. Everything here tells me to back Zinzan Brooke. His heat win at the Bendigo Cup was phenomenal and he is drawn well enough here to get early room. The reason I am going against him is the sizzling last start effort from Tito Mojito Box 2 who went 29:28 over 520m at Sale. This race is over 515m and I think if you ran 29:28 then you would have no worries winning this race. Happy to take on the short priced favourite and pray for a bit of luck early. Tito Mojito to win
Race 11. I loved the last start performance of Louie Lasagne box 2. There is no shame going down to multiple group winning bitch Striker Light and Louie Lasagne made her seriously work for the win. This is a big step back in grade and I think he can lead all the way here. Louie Lasagne to win
Race 12. For all the victims trying to get out of trouble late. I think I’m Electric in box 1 is as good a chance as any in this race. He has the pace to lead and with a little bit of luck hold the rest of these ones at bay. He likes Sandown, He likes the inside, he has early pace and he is $12- good enough for me on a particularly skinny night for value. I’m Electric each way
Best bet- Louie Lasagne Race 11 #2
Best Roughie- I’m Electric Race 12#1
Quaddie- 1,3,5/1,3,4/2,6/5,6,7,8 (69.44% for $50)
