Sandown Greyhounds on a Thursday night, what else would you be doing a winters night in Melbourne?
We have done our best to find the winners for you and we kick the night off in Race 2. Be sure to also keep an eye out for Matt Lanigan’s best bets over the weekend. He’s been flying the flag high for the Punting Stars Greyhound team of late.
Race 2- Zara’s Entity box 3 was super impressive in the heat burning to the first mark and never giving anything else a chance. I think if she can reel off a similar first section then she will lead them out and prove too hard to catch. Zara’s Entity to win
Race 3- Winning form is good form and Tobacco Leaf in box 6 could not have been any more impressive here last week in sizzling time. The only concern for me is if the 7 gets across him early and interferes with him at the first turn, otherwise I think he is a good thing. Tobacco Leaf to win
Race 4- Think that Liam in box 1 will lead them here and take serious catching. Massive step back in class and whilst there are a couple out wide who have early pace they want the fence which should set the race up for him. I think he is perfectly drawn for a race like this and I will be having a go at Liam to win
Race 5- Keen here on Omega Lucy box 3. Has been super impressive its past 3 starts and doesn’t run in to an overly talented bunch here at nice odds of $3.50 as we speak. It is mad for the inside so my only concern is it not getting across the inside dogs heading into the first turn but if it does then I can’t see anyone here running it down. It is a very strong dog and I am happy to have a go at Omega Lucy to win

Race 6- Only bad luck will see Extreme Magic box 6 walk away without the chocolates. Another star by boom sire Black Magic Opal and a full brother to one of the most exciting dogs in the land, it’s the best dog in the race and is on fire at the moment. Get the $2 fixed that is on offer at the moment as a gift because it should start a bit shorter at box rise. Extreme Magic to win
Race 7- Pretty keen to back Cardamom box 7 again this week. Went super last week and I think it will be better second up at the distance. There is plenty of speed inside him but he flew out last week and doesn’t mind sitting outside them with a bit of room. The time he ran last week was pretty slick and with a bit of natural improvement and clear running, he is way over the odds at $6.00 and $1.90 the place. Cardamom each way
Race 8- Not betting here but there are two serious dogs in the race. The entire field can run but Worm Burner and Flyrite are genuine group dogs and I can’t split them. I think Flyrite will lead but I think Worm Burner is a better dog and has the ability to run it down with clear running. If I had to have a bet then I would quinella the two but I am going to stay away from this race due to lack of value and just appreciate quality dogs.
Race 11- I think Kalani Klare in box 2 will hit the rail and be strong enough to fend this bunch off. Was a brilliant winner a few starts back at Sale and has won here in good time prior to tonight. She gets the tick for box draw, for class and is a winner at the track. The $5 on offer is generous and we hope to round out the night with Kalani Klare to win
Best bet- Extreme magic, race 6
Best roughie- Cardamom, race 7
Good luck punters @chattleonard
