Easter Saturday means Football all across the country and great racing. Check out our race-by-race Caulfield Racing Tips below!
Caulfield Saturday the 14th April
Rail Position: Out 4m Entire Circuit
Dual Track Meeting: N
Track Type: Turf
Track Condition: Good 4
Weather: Fine
Track comment: It’s the best racing surface in Australia and will again play very well. Expect as the track dries in the afternoon it favours the leaders slightly more than earlier in the day. Basically a typical Caulfield Autumn track. Fast horses win!
Race 1
Just another typical messy mares race on paper. Not keen to get involved too much but #5 Ma Jones is the one to beat and with even luck should figure in the finish.
Race 2
Five of nine horses debuting here. We loved the trial of #5 Many Rewards but it’s a no-bet race.
Race 3
Packed field from the Oakleigh Plate start. We love horses drawn mid to wide from the 1100m chute. #5 Chase The Horizon maps well, has sound fresh form and is over the odds at $6.50
Race 4
Busy race, #5 Butch Kissidy will get right back but hit the line strong. Happy to play 1 x 3 on that basis. Feels like a race where the best ride/most luck might win it!
Race 5
Once again looking for a mid or wide draw from the 1100m this time for the fillies. #3 Merriest is well up to these and will only need an ounce of luck to figure.
Race 6
Staying races are ones that we often steer clear from but there is two clear standouts in this race. Suggest a quinella with #1 Boom Time and #3 Hans Holbein.
Race 7
Good race this one with Miss Gunpowder our top pick following a nice jump-out for her new stable. Too many live chances to consider a bet though. $6 the field!
Race 8
A funny preparation for the talented #3 Hooked but this looks a very winnable race for him. Pushes forward and gets the right trail in behind the speed.
Race 9
Another race with a stack of chances and as often is the case over the middle distance trips, Darren Weir holds the key. No bets for us here.
Race 10
We have to wait all day for our Best Of The Day! #11 The Chairman gets the absolute gun-run and is a horse we think can go on with things this preparation. $8 looks a great price.
