Geelong with the rail out 9m and Doomben with the rail out 11m for gallops tomorrow. A few roughies have come up as nice overlays on our rating system. Wednesday best bets below!
Geelong
Race 2 #6 Divine Red @ $13
Nice overlay on this runner the main concern is the inside draw and the inkling we have that the track will play like it did last time and favor horses coming down the middle of the track and eventually, the outside fence. None the less the price is too good to ignore. Raw model price was $6 and well worth a bet at current price.
Race 7 #7 Nina’s Ballerina @ $7
Class runner who has the chance for a ‘cheap kill’ here after drawing out which should give Mertens the chance to grab a three-wide line trail and unleash her late. Current best price is $7 with UBet which is well overs. Can mark her as short as $4 and think she will run very well here.
Race 8 #3 Musee Des Arts @ $8.50
Open race and one of our equal top raters is this runner from the Fox yard. First-up run was very good and any natural improvement will see him very hard to beat in this race. Expect he shortens in betting tomorrow.
Doomben
Race 4 #1 Bold Assassin @ $11
The current Heavy 9 should improve over the next twelve hours which should help Bold Assassin’s chances. He didn’t receive a heap of luck last start at the Sunshine Coast and can improve from the soft draw here for Glen Colless. Open race, happy to have a small 1 x 3 bet here on the toppy.
Race 6 #3 Zoff Of The World @ $6.50
Broke through for a well-deserved win last start at Ipswich and can measure up to this moderate group. Maps well, hard fit and should handle the predicted sting out of the track.
Canterbury
Race 6 #12 Hoof Hustler @ $10/$3 each-way (1 x 3)
Former Kiwi Hoof Hustler is a likely second up improver stepping quickly to 1900m. First up he was out the back but wound up late and importantly was running past all the tired horses in the furlong after the post. This should be a solidly run race and will suit a strong staying type like him.
Race 8 #5 Slow Burn @ $2 currently (take best tote or $2.30+)
Promising mare Slow Burn resumes for her second prep on the back of an impressive trial victory at Randwick. Her only win from three starts came at this track and trip and her other form and SP profile around promising runners bodes well. She’ll settle forward from the wide gate and be hard to hold out, but we do expect a slightly better price come jump time.
