Caulfield Tips for Wednesday the 18th of October, Blue Sapphire Day!
Rail Position: True Entire Circuit
Dual Track Meeting: N
Track Type: Turf
Track Condition: Good 3
Weather: Hot
They raced here on Saturday (Guineas Day) with the rail out a few metres and the track played pretty well – like a Caulfield track really. Back in the True position which is usually an up and off kind of rail – could play a bit more fence on fire though given no wear from Saturday compared to other lanes.
Blue Sapphire Day Tips 18th Oct
Race 1 #6 Sin To Win @ $7.00
Really keen to start the day off with this Hayes galloper who maps perfectly for the very much in-form Kerrin McEvoy. Rock solid SP profile, building a strong foundation and can win a race like this. Potting the small field, sit and sprint-type form the Sydney horse is bringing into the race. Happy to save on the topweight Swacadelic who’s gone up a big price considering the recent tough win at Mornington.

Race 3 #1 Mutamayel @ $16.00 & #2 Danger Deal $17.00
Double play! Mutamayel drops in grade and distance and is a big old price. Positive ride needed from the wide gate (10) but can figure in this for sure. Danger Deal is yet another South Australian visitor underrated in the Victorian market. Maps sweetly and is big odds!
Race 4 #8 Ozi Choice @ $14.00
Will be surprised if the big teams don’t step into this horse after 9am tomorrow and bet it into single figures. Obvious go forward option with a sound fitness base in a pretty soft race! Appeals each-way right now.

Race 6 #1 Summer Passage @ $8.00
Terrific race on paper. Plenty of talent here and for that reason I’m really happy that our bloke has Hughy as a pilot. He can come across and control the race from barrier 8 and with fitness advantage on his side give this lot plenty of cheek!
